Philanthropic Giving
One of the goals of the Advertising Club of Connecticut is to assist and advance desirable community and/or charitable projects and goals by utilizing the knowledge and resources within the organization. In this vein, the Advertising Club of Connecticut has, over the last 12 years, encouraged our members to aid us in these efforts.
The Advertising Club of Connecticut’s philanthropic giving has benefited both Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the Rob Branham Scholarship Fund. In 12 years, we have raised over $70,000 and provided an enormous array of arts and crafts supplies for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. In that time, we have also provided over $20,000 in scholarships through the Rob Branham Scholarship Fund.
Below are some of the programs we have developed to support our philanthropic giving efforts.
Rob Branham Scholarship Fund
Each year the Advertising Club of Connecticut awards the Rob Branham Scholarship to students planning on entering the advertising, marketing or supporting industries. Rob was a staunch supporter and member of the Advertising Club of Connecticut throughout his career.
The criteria for scholastic excellence is based upon a combination of essays, referrals, extracurricular activities, SAT scores, and GPAs. A member of the Ad Club must sponsor all candidates. Over the last 11 years, we have provided over $20,000 in scholarships to those in need.
About Rob Branham:
Rob Branham was a long time broadcaster and sales executive in CT. Rob did on-air work at WPOP, WWYZ, and other stations in CT. He was an Account Executive at WDRC, WPOP, WFSB, WTNH and WTIC TV. Rob was liked and respected by all that knew him. He was a caring, honest, fun-loving individual who regularly went out of his way to help others – he inspired his colleagues in the Advertising industry. In the early 90′s Rob was diagnosed with leukemia. He had a successful bone marrow transplant in the summer of 1993 but complications set in and he passed away in October of that year.

Annual Charity Auction
For the past 11 years our Charity Auction has provided cash donations for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. It has also helped us to raise the money necessary to provide our Rob Branham Scholarship. Many of our local companies and organizations have been generous donators, providing the Advertising Club of Connecticut with many and varied items to put up for auction.
To find out more about how you can become a part of the Annual Charity Auction, please contact Sandi Brangiero at admin@adclubct.org.
Holiday Party Arts and Crafts Drive
Each year at the Advertising Club of Connecticut’s Holiday Party, we ask our attendees to donate arts and crafts supplies to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center ArtReach Program.
To find out more about making an arts and crafts donation, please visit our Holiday Party page or contact us.
