The Advertising Club of Connecticut will be hosting an Advertising & Marketing Job Fair on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 11:30am to 4:00pm, at the Crowne Plaza, 100 Berlin Road, Cromwell.


This year The Ad Club of CT will also be featuring round table discussions/seminars. Expert from our industry have volunteered their services for these discussions/seminars. These seminars will help individuals, providing them the tools they will need to land a job, get a better job, or just to stay in demand in today’s marketplace.

All seminars will allow our audience members to interact with these industry leaders. Currently, the topics we have scheduled include:

  • The Do’s and Dont’s of Networking, presented by Michael Vigeant of The Center for Research. This seminar will help the newer entrants into our industry grapple with the ever changing networking environment, while also providing new and exciting information to long-standing advertising/marketing personnel as well. This discussion will help everyone to understand just how important it is to make personal contact, networking etiquette and much more.

  • Personal Branding, presented by Loretta Peters of Competitive Edge Branding. This seminar will help individuals at all points of their careers … be it newly entering the workplace or those wanting a competitive advantage in moving their careers forward.

  • Persuasion Based Web Design, presented by Steve Machesney, VP of Strategy, FATHOM. A website’s job is to persuade someone to take action… to believe something, to buy something, to start a conversation … to somehow move beyond the status quo. In this seminar we’ll explore what success looks like and discuss the value of a test and learn approach to web design. We’ll also discuss the right questions to ask stakeholders that go beyond “What do you want on the website?”

Michael Vigeant, President The Center for Research Inc.

Michael J. Vigeant is the founder of The Center for Research, Inc., a national research organization and recognized leader in the world of emerging research technologies. Vigeant founded The Center for Research, Inc. in 2009 after more than a decade of service with The Center for Research and Public Policy. During his tenure at The Center for Research and Public Policy, he was instrumental in the organization’s growth while serving in leadership positions including Project Director and Executive Vice President.

A specialist in the design and implementation of a wide variety of research methodologies including telephone, mail, and web-based studies, focus groups, and in-depth interviews, Vigeant empowers his clients with objective, reliable data to maximize organizational effectiveness. Before arriving at Fathom, Steve was the Global Online Strategist for Covidien and founded online marketing educator WebMark, a division of New Horizons. Steve holds an MS in Marketing from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo.
