38. CREATIVE EXCELLENCE – CONCEPTS NOT APPROVED BY CLIENTS
Here’s where you can showcase your favorite concepts not approved by clients. All types of creative can compete in this category. Unselected TV or radio scripts will compete against unselected traditional or interactive concepts. Prove that your creative team was right! (Winners in this category will not be eligible for Gold Brush, Gold Pen or Best of Show.)
39. DEREK BORDEAU STUDENT COMPETITION AWARD
Open to students enrolled in Advertising, Graphic Design, or Marketing at any Connecticut college or university. All forms of advertising are eligible – print, collateral, broadcast, direct mail, etc. Work did not have to be created for a class. No Entry Fee!
40. BEST OF INDUSTRY AWARDS
Any work (TV, Radio, Print, Online, etc.) can be entered and judged as the best work within four (4) particular industries. Since additional information is required for judging, entries from other categories will not be entered automatically as the Best of Industry. This is a new category this year, where results will be part of the judging criteria, and give you the chance to claim your work was chosen as the best of the following industries:

C. Excellence in Industrial Marketing Award
D. Excellence in Retail Marketing Award
Please submit a summary (taped to the back of each entry) that includes the following details. (Limit of one page per entry to answers all questions.)
- Background (What were the business challenges?)
- Target Audience (Who were you trying to reach?)
- Objectives (What were the marketing goals?)
- Budget (Were there any financial considerations?)
- Big Idea (What was the creative inspiration?)
- Execution (Describe the final project.)
- How long did it run?
- Results (How did it perform? ($ or % of increase in sales or hits, etc.)
