The Norman Liss Award for Public Service is presented to the most outstanding entry in the public service categories. The Best of Show Award, sponsored by The Journal News, is presented to the most outstanding entry in all categories. The People’s Choice Award is voted by your peers, the night of the gala. Entries are accepted and judged in early spring followed by a prestigious gala event that includes cocktails, a display of winning entries, dinner and an awards ceremony.

Advertising Club of Connecticut Annual Out-of-Home Competition Call For Entries

The Advertising Club of Connecticut has announced the 2012 Out of Home Creative Competition theme with for the annual event.

In response to this year’s theme, “Search Local, Save Local, Buy Local”, agencies and designers from all across the state are tasked with the creative development of billboard concepts that will remind people to support their local economy. The winning concept will be displayed throughout the state on digital billboards.

This annual event is sponsored by many of the out of home industry leaders, and other companies within our community. This year’s sponsors include: Out of Home America, Trans-ad Outdoor, Lamar, CBS Outdoor, CT 1 Media and SLB Design.

The top three winning billboard concepts will also win one of 3 cash prizes. The First Place winner receives $150 cash. Deadline for entries is February 24, 2012.

The Out of Home Event will be held on Wednesday, February 29, from 5:30 to 8:30pm, at The Hartford Courant, 285 Broad Street, Hartford.

If you wish to enter this creative competition, all the necessary information: rules, regulations, along with entry form and tools to aid in the production of your creative works, can be found by clicking here.

Ad Club members and students (with proper ID) may enter the Out of Home Competition free of charge; there is a minimal cost for non-members to enter their billboard designs. The non-member fee structure is based upon the number of billboard designs they enter; more information can be found on our website.

LESSONS IN LEADERSHIP is a discussion series for area business, educational and nonprofit leaders interested in improving their leadership understanding and skills. The series is organized around From Values to Action – The Four Principles of Values-Based Leadership by Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Jr.

WHY: Everyone has the opportunity to be a leader … in the workplace or family, or in business and community organizations. Improving our leadership skills makes us more effective and helps us to facilitate and maximize the efforts of the group.

The Advertising Club of Connecticut will begin the 2011-2012 season at the CT Science Center in downtown Hartford on Thursday, September 15th. The event will be located in the Invention Dimension Room on the 5th floor from 5:30 to 7:30pm and is open to members and non-members alike.

Each year, The Advertising Club of Connecticut announces its upcoming season’s events at our Kick-Off Party. This year’s event is sponsored in part by Telemundo/Hartford and by the CT Science Center and will offer a cash bar and appetizers.

As with many of our other events, The Ad Club will hold a raffle with a variety of fabulous prizes awarded to winning raffle ticket holders.

At-the-door cost will be $15.00.
