Looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, detail oriented Marketing Associate to support all aspects of this growing agency's communications, media and public relations activities spanning a broad spectrum of PR tools including online, print, direct mail and news media. The candidate should have a bachelors degree in communications, journalism or a related field and have a minimum of 2-4 years experience. Strong English oral and written communications skills including editing and proofreading a must. References and 3 published writing samples required - print and/or online. FUNCTION:

Supporting the communications needs of Mandell JCC departments: arts, health and fitness facility, special events, community services, pre-school, youth, senior departments, summer camps and programs.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field

• Two-four years hands on copywriting/ marketing/communications experience on client, agency or media side

• References and 3 published writing samples required – print and online

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong English oral and written communications skills including editing and proofreading

• Solid knowledge of and experience with internet and online world including email, Web 2.0, social networking, blog tools, writing and development web content

• Basic digital photography for blog purposes

• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure, high energy and highly motivated

• Ability to work independently and meet tight and unexpected deadlines

• Must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks

• Demonstrable success in a communications field (e.g. journalism, public relations or corporate communications) and/or business-to-consumer marketing

• Ability to consistently deliver quality customer service

• Ability to work with all levels of the organization

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as marketing liaison between JCC program staff and graphics/web design/print shop/public relations marketing resources and vendors. Support compilation of content for Mandell JCC published guides and supplements includes securing updated program information, editing /proofing content and acting as traffic manager.

2. Copywriting: includes research, writing and editing press documents and content for various print and online publications and marketing materials. (e.g. press releases, calendar notices, invitations, programs, play bills, brochures, advertising, flyers, postcards, posters and other marketing collateral).

3. Hands-on responsibility for mandelljcc.org functions including website content development and updating, eblasts, social networking initiatives (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) community calendar maintenance and photography for web uses.

4. Media: Maintain active media list, monitoring and reports, press outreach and press release distribution.

5. Assist Director of HJFF/Marketing as required

6. “On-duty” schedule as required

7. Other duties as assigned
